Under Gods: Stories from the Soho Road
A photographic exhibition by Liz Hingley
Under Gods is a photographic exhibition which explores the complexities of everyday religious life around Soho Road in Birmingham. The area is home to people from more than 90 countries. Between 2007 and 2009 photographer Liz Hingley lived with and intimately documented different religious communities, including Thai, Sri Lankan and Vietnamese Buddhists, Rastafarians, the Jesus Army evangelical Christians, Sikhs, Catholic nuns and Hare Krishnas.
Including objects as well as photographs, this thought provoking exhibition examines issues surrounding inter-faith living and aims to encourage dialogue between diverse religions and cultures. The fascinating photos will inspire debate and interpretation – make sure you join the conversation
