Trail of the Possil Meteorite
Inspired by a unique cosmic event: the landing of a meteorite in north Glasgow, 1804.
A day of free family-friendly arts along the way of the number 75 & 7 bus routes, with stop off points in Possil, Milton and Lambhill.

Glasgow Sculpture Studios and The Clay Pits, open 10am-5pm
Find out about a new joint venture as Glasgow Sculpture Studio artist, Sally Hackett responds to the incredible environment, materials and industrial history of The Claypits, working with Golfhill Primary School to create temporary sculptures for The Clay Pits.
During the day there will also be visitor access to and talks on Glasgow Sculpture Studios Ceramic Archive.
Canal Ferry Boat
There will be return canal boat trips from Applecross to Lambhill setting off at 11am, 1pm and 3.30pm. Spaces are limited and will be on a first come-first served basis. Please note that the ferry is uncovered so please dress for the weather on the day!
Milton Bus Terminus, open 12 – 5pm
View work from two artists, Douglas Laing and Jemima Dansey-Wright are working with groups and local residents to produce site-specific artworks.
Milton Community Garden will also be on site with some small gardening activities to try.
It Came From Outer Space!! From 3pm, with drop-in activity from 2pm
Come along to Saracen Cross and witness a grand procession of space creatures, planets, asteroids, stars, flying saucers and whirly cosmic whistles! There will be craft activities in the square including printing with Illustrator Danielle Banks, plus make a meteor ribbon stick
Come dressed up as there will be a small prize for best home-made costume!
Concrete Gardens, open 4-5pm
Relax after the procession and explore the Concrete Gardens, an urban community leading food growing and creative projects for the people of Possilpark and the wider north Glasgow area.
Lambhill Stables - Open all day with evening social
Lambhill Stables are open throughout the day and you can drop in to enjoy the gardens, heritage room and an out-of-this-world art exhibition. Café opening hours are 10am-5pm (food served 10am-3pm; tea, coffee, soft drinks only until 5pm)
Take the canal ferry boat from Glasgow Sculpture Studios to Lambhill Stables with local expert guide, Michael Nakonecznyj. There will also be guided heritage walks along the towpath between Lambhill Stables and Milton.
From 5-8pm join us for the grand finale of the Trail. This is a relaxed social evening with star-gazing and space suits, fresh food by the barbecue, local musicians and an audio-visual performance. All welcome and as the café is unlicensed you are welcome to BYOB.
Space Is On the internet

The North West Arts Trail is an annual event from Glasgow Connected Arts Network. In 2017 the Trail is being produced by Glasgow Life in collaboration with Mandy McIntosh and local organisations along the route.
