Glasgow's remarkable prowess in industry and trade was built around the Clyde, local natural resources, and the city's position on west coast, well placed to reach the rapidly developing world markets. Colin Mackay, well-known BBC broadcaster and journalist, will describe the other unique strength in the city - the "Can-Do" ethos of the entrepreneurs of the Victorian and Edwardian eras.
