Local historian Bill
Black tells how on the 3rd July 1883, 127 men and boys were killed at Linthouse
when the steamer "Daphne" capsized on launching, in the world's
biggest shipping disaster. This presentation describes not only the tragic
events, but the subsequent inquiry, controversial relief fund and the effect on
some of the victims' families.
