What's On in Glasgow Life
Tales of the City: Gallery 2
Art Fund International and the GoMA collection:
Throughout 2012 GoMA will open several new displays under the title, Tales of the City: Art Fund International and the GoMA collection. These exhibitions will highlight exciting new acquisitions of world-class contemporary artworks that have been purchased in partnership with The Common Guild, Glasgow with funds from the Art Fund, London. New acquisitions of international art from countries such as Germany, Switzerland, USA, Croatia and Holland will be displayed alongside works from our existing UK collections. In particular this will highlight the interests and working methods that artists based in Glasgow share with those from around the world.
The display in Gallery 2 will present work in a variety of media, such as sculpture, film, painting, prints and installation, that demonstrates how artists take a playful approach to object making.
Artists represented in the exhibition will include: Derek Boshier, Rob Churm, Hans-Peter Feldmann, Peter Fischli & David Weiss, Alex Frost, David Hockney, Scott Myles , David Sherry and Simon Starling.
