Old Fruitmarket Opening Ceremony Party featuring Boomerang

A night to remember, with live entertainment from Boomerang, featuring 21 artists including Breabach (Scotland), Moana and the Tribe and Horomona Horo (New Zealand) and Shellie Morris, Casey Donovan, Aaron Burarrwanga and Djakapurra Munyarryun (Australia).

On 9 November 2007, the Old Fruitmarket was the epicentre for Commonwealth Games excitement when it was revealed that Glasgow would host the XX Commonwealth Games in 2014. Fast forward seven years and here we are at the Old Fruitmarket’s evening length programme for the screening of Glasgow 2014’s Opening Ceremony.

After the excitement of the opening ceremony, our Festival 2014 Club DJs take over so bring your dancing shoes! Reprising his role at the Old Fruitmarket from the night that Glasgow won the Games, Tam Coyle will DJ a party set reflecting the tunes and grooves from across the competing nations and territories.

Boomerang is presented in association with WOMAD New Zealand, The Homeground Festival, Creative New Zealand, The Australia Council and Sydney Opera House.

Doors open 7pm
