Harry Potter: History of Magic

Journey to where magic and myth began with Harry Potter: A History of Magic. Have you ever wanted to delve into Divination, ponder the peculiarities of Potions and discover magical creatures? Now you can. In partnership with the British Library, the Mitchell Library is capturing the traditions of folklore and magic at the heart of the Harry Potter stories. We’re delving deep into our collections to bring a display of magical treasures and tales, celebrating the 20th anniversary of the publication of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. The exhibition will feature images from JK Rowling’s archive and the British Library’s collection. The Harry Potter: A History of Magic regional displays have been created in association with the British Library throughout the Living Knowledge Network, an innovative partnership with 21 major libraries across the UK. The British Library’s major exhibition in partnership with Bloomsbury, Harry Potter: A History of Magic, is open in London from 20 October 2017 – 28 February 2018. Book your ticket for this extraordinary new addition to J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World at www.bl.uk. Join in the conversation #BLHarryPotter.
